Clumsy Little Me
So I feel in the parking lot this morning. I parked as usual at the top of the lot. Apparently the grates at the top do not fit all the way across because my foot feel in a hole. I feel flat on my face and twisted my ankle a bit. There was another lady in the parking lot who was waiting for the elevator. I think that I scared her because she started yelling, Are you okay! I told her that I was fine and got up and started on my way. Maybe I should have exaggerated more so that I could have claimed workers compensation.
The Morning After
Last night I could hardly contain my excitement as I drove home from work. I was worried for my little man, wondering what had happened during school that day. When I came home things looked normal. Charlie was finishing up making dinner and Aidan was in the living room watching television. I didn't want to come out and ask Aidan what happened in case something went wrong. I asked Charlie instead.
Charlie said that Aidan has not gotten the courage up to ask Allie to be his Valentine. However, she did like her bracelet and wore it all day. In fact all the other girls were jealous of her and her bracelet. Well I will take it as a good sign that she wore the bracelet. Maybe Aidan and Allie's romance will blossom as the year continues.
In other Valentine news, poor Charlie spent all day making this wonderful dinner that didn't really turn out. The problem was the mash potato topping. He was suppose to use premixed refrigerator mashed potatoes, but he used boxed dry mashed potatoes. Needless to say the topping turned out to be a bit dry. He was very upset. I ate a serving anyway because I was very hungry. Because Charlie was so upset I told him that I would go to Whataburger and get what has become our standby Valentine's Day dinner, a patty melt meal deal Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole for us to watch on television. The animation and sound editing was outstanding, and Aidan loved the story line. All in all Valentine's Day turned out to be a really good time for the whole family.

Valentine's Day
I normally have to wake Aidan up in the morning. Not today. At 7:00 am sharp my little man was in my room completely dressed and ready to start his day. I wonder if Allie had anything to do with this. I could tell that he was visibly nervous so I got up and went to make him his breakfast, waffles with cream cheese.
He was very restless at breakfast so I finally asked him if everything was okay. He told me that he was scared to ask Allie to be his Valentine. I assured him that she would like the bracelet that he was going to give her. I asked him if she talked to him in class. He said she did. I asked him if she was his friend. He said she was. Then I told him that he just had to get his courage up and ask her to be his Valentine. I told him that Dadda had to do the same thing with Momma. His answer was that he couldn't catch things in his mouth like Dadda did. (You see Charlie told Aidan once when he was very little that Dadda got Momma by throwing popcorn into the air and catching it with his mouth. This story is completely untrue but still somehow it has stuck.) I told Aidan not to worry and that everything would work out okay.
After breakfast I went to take a shower and Aidan was off to brush his teeth. Moments later Aidan came into my room very disturbed. He had gotten water all over his ONLY red shirt while brushing his teeth. Very upset he was not sure what he was going to do. I told him not to worry. I pulled out my hair dryer and dried his shirt. Then I fixed his hair and assured him that he was very handsome. I told him to go and put some of his cologne on. He then had me smell his different colognes and asked me to pick out which one I thought was best. I picked his Adidas cologne and sprayed it on him. After that we were out the door.
I had to walk Aidan to his classroom because he was bringing some cake pops in for the class to enjoy at snack. I was really glad that I got to tag along because I wanted to get a good look at this Allie girl. That way if she broke my little man's heart I would know which one to look for in the parking lot after school. I found her. She sits right next to Aidan. She was sitting down, but she looked very tall to me and she had long strawberry blonde hair. I didn't say anything to him or to Allie. I didn't want to embarrass him in front of her. I dropped the cake pops off and left.
Now I am as nervous as Aidan waiting to see what has happened. I hope that she is not mean and that she accepts his invitation to be his Valentine. Also I hope that he musters up the courage to ask her. I guess I will find out later tonight.

Valentine's Eve
So tonight Aidan and I sat down to write out his Valentine cards for his class. I gave him the smaller cards and told him that he had a few larger cards that he could use for "special" people in his class. I knew that he would want to use one of them for his friend Will and Connor. I also thought that he would use one for his teacher Mrs. Garrad. I gave him the list of girls' and boys' names and the first name was Allie. He looked at me and said that he needed a "special" card for Allie.
Now Aidan does not normally talk about girls in the house. I think that he thinks that it will upset me. He is very loving with me and always says that I am his Valentine and he likes to tease Charlie by giving me kisses. I was a little surprised that he was so open with the idea of sending Allie a "special" card.
When we were done writing out all the cards, Charlie asked if he wanted to add anything to the cards. Maybe he wanted to make someone special a bracelet, or something. He thought that a bracelet would be a good idea. I took him in the living room and he picked out a red bead that he wanted the bracelet in. I proceeded to make him a small red beaded stretch bracelet for Allie. When I was done I taped it to Allie's "special" card.
It was time for bed so Charlie and I tucked Aidan into bed. Aidan told us that he was going to ask Allie to be his Valentine. I could tell that he was scared to ask her. We explained to him that he was just going to have to be brave and asked. He wanted to wear a shirt that said "Happy Valentine's Day" on it, but he did not have one. I convinced him that wearing his read dress shirt would be very nice. He went to sleep a little nervous about asking Allie the BIG QUESTION!!!!!
