Last night I could hardly contain my excitement as I drove home from work. I was worried for my little man, wondering what had happened during school that day. When I came home things looked normal. Charlie was finishing up making dinner and Aidan was in the living room watching television. I didn't want to come out and ask Aidan what happened in case something went wrong. I asked Charlie instead.
Charlie said that Aidan has not gotten the courage up to ask Allie to be his Valentine. However, she did like her bracelet and wore it all day. In fact all the other girls were jealous of her and her bracelet. Well I will take it as a good sign that she wore the bracelet. Maybe Aidan and Allie's romance will blossom as the year continues.
In other Valentine news, poor Charlie spent all day making this wonderful dinner that didn't really turn out. The problem was the mash potato topping. He was suppose to use premixed refrigerator mashed potatoes, but he used boxed dry mashed potatoes. Needless to say the topping turned out to be a bit dry. He was very upset. I ate a serving anyway because I was very hungry. Because Charlie was so upset I told him that I would go to Whataburger and get what has become our standby Valentine's Day dinner, a patty melt meal deal Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole for us to watch on television. The animation and sound editing was outstanding, and Aidan loved the story line. All in all Valentine's Day turned out to be a really good time for the whole family.
